It's New York Fashion Week and it wouldn't be complete without a little spot the inspiration. Today's dissection comes from native New Yorker, Lyn Devon
(Lyn Devon Spring 2012)
In her official bio Devon cites Claire McCardell, Geoffrey Beene and her former boss, Ralph Lauren as her mentors but this look from her Spring 2012 collection has some distinctive tones of my favorite designer, André Courrèges
(Courrèges pieces from 1966 and 1972 collections. The future is now.)
From the color combo to the buttons to the proportion play and that patent cubist futuristic minimalism, this has got "Thanks André" written all over it, doll!
After a Fall season bonkers for Balenciaga, will Spring be cuckoo for Courrèges? We shall see.
