The Best of London Fashion Week

So London Fashion Week closes and editors head to Italy. Let's take a look at my pics of the best from a week of wacky

(Peter Jensen's color blocking)

(Paul Smith's ox blood skirt)

(This yellow blouse from Roksanda Ilincic was the most dramatic but chic)

(You know I had to throw in an Elizabeth Taylor piece. Thanks to Topshop Unique for slapping that B's mug on an over-sized sweatshirt. NEED!)

(Speaking of sweatshirts, this wild print from Mary Katrantzou is also on my Spring 2012 wish list. Imagine with dark denim and white Adidas. My outfit for the first day of Spring)

(Giles Deacon's ice goddess cocktail dress will literally light up the room)

(Danielle Scutt gets how I dress)

(Alistair Carr's first collection for venerated Pringle of Scotland used a lot of great 70's graphic prints. Bring on the "Logan's Run" remake!)

And finally LFW can't be summed up without including some sharp coats from Burberry Prorsum. Who needs a coat in Spring/Summer, I'll never know, but if you're the type chilly in 75 degree heat, might I suggest

See you in Milan!

Next!

Giles Deacon is out at Ungaro

So Giles (along with predecessors Esteban Cortazar and Lindsay Lohan) failed to connect with and rev up the French label and the search for the right creative director continues...

The Early Prediction of the Ominpresent Fall Shoe(s)

Busy designer Giles Deacon's (he has his own private label of avant-garde fashion along with being the latest creative director of Ungaro) creations for Nine West arrive in stores this month and I'm predicting now that we're gonna see a lot of this bootie and pony hair flat

You heard it here first!

Tom Ford will Show at London Fashion Week

Huge coup for London Fashion Week as Tom Ford will be showing his Spring 2012 collection Sunday September 18th.

Arguably one of the hottest tickets of the season, Tom Ford will be a welcome addition to London Fashion Week and will join the ranks of Vivienne Westwood, Giles Deacon and House of Holland as London presenters.

Book that flight now ladies and gays!

Russo-ing Feathers at Ungaro

(Oh Anna and Giles, well played)

Giles Deacon has quite the hand stacked against him with his premiere collection for Emanuel Ungaro. The once hot, hot, hot house is now most noted for its recent revolving door of designers (Miss Lohan the most notorious of all).

Now it's Mr Deacon's swing to restore prestige and respect to the once venerated label.

He wisely showcased looks with signature lace, feathers and embellishments (let us recall Ungaro's heyday was the heady 80's)

(a petite Daphne Guinness, non?)

(you're gonna see this on a red carpet next week. mark my words)

And having VOGUE Nippon Fashion Director and style icon, Anna Dello Russo, model in your show is a pretty loud vote of confidence you're doing something right.

Bonne chance, Monsieur! I will say a little fashion prayer for you.

Out With the Pasties

It's official: Giles Deacon replaces the wonder twins, Lindsay and Estrella at Ungaro. This is great news for fashion fans: a classic house with a new designer obsessed with pop and color.

But I will miss Lindsay. Perhaps Giles will put her in the front row of his debut. Or is that salt in the wound??

To be continued....
