Gwen Stefani Becomes More and More Like Madonna...

Gwen Stefani hit the MTV European Music Awards with her ska 90's band No Doubt last night in Frankfurt, Germany 

Dressed in her lady-of-a-certain-age draped silks on the red carpet, the transformation into Madonna really is visible

 but it was on stage that it was clear that it's more than the material, girl, that makes the Madge

From the tall boots, to the menswear influence and fishnets, and, of course, the controversial finger/gun posing, Mrs. Rossdale is channeling her inner Ms. Ciccone like bananas!

And the coy wink to Funny Face is very tongue in cheek indeed. Brava! 

It's Summer; 'Settle Down' with No Doubt

Gwen Stefani and crew are back with their first new album in 11 years but its sound looks even further back to their ska and reggae influences           


         
            


Not as much of that new wave gloss as 'Return of Saturn' and 'Rock Steady' and Gwen has definitely toned down the over the top costuming of her solo career retiring to her tanks and bad pants combo from the 2000's


Although the Love Angel Music Baby Asian ladies make cameos

As does a  L'oreal lip gloss cameo to remind us of the lady's post front-woman career

All in all, I personally prefer the sparkle and shine of late ND / solo Gwen, but I can't deny the ear worm this jam has already crafted in me noggin'.

College Jeopardy Makes Me Feel Old

Last evening, as Mr G and I readied for our nightly competition of who houses more useless information, we were greeted with unannounced guest, "College Jeopardy" 

Adding insult to injury a "I'm Married to a Famous Singer" category came up and the clue wen something like 

"I'm married to Gavin Rossdale, no doubt" 

-blank stares-

Alex: And that, of course, is Gwen Stefani. 

I gulped. These two are my generation's Paul and Joanne. And now they're $200 stumpers for the 20 set.

L.A.M.B. is Now my Favorite Line to Copywrite!

Working on a box of platform heels from Gwen Stefani's fashion label, today I've written the following:



"Chop, chop! These sassy and funky heels from L.A.M.B. are on everyone's wish list and won't last!"

"It doesn't matter what month it is, with these fierce leather and suede slingbacks, you'll always be coming in like a L.A.M.B. !"

DON'T: Reading Gwen Stefani on British ELLE

While the online is abuzz about Gwen Stefani's quotes about the genius of her wedding dress and its maker, John Galliano, inside this British ELLE, I couldn't help but have an "Oh No" moment with all those ill placed headlines.

Two big don'ts: "Botox" slapped in bold letters right at her Photoshopped visage and "Why men cheat" placed anywhere near her because Mister Stefani isn't exactly known for his fidelity. Poor thing.
