It Can't All Be Dior's Birthday Present #2

Gaultier in at Dior.

No one is even throwing his name around and with today's news of Raf Simon's departure at Jil Sander, his rumored appointment seems inevitable now.

While Raf's stark, modern minimalism would definitely be interesting to see play out at a house long known for over the top ruffles and trim, my heart is still pining for Gaultier. He truly gets the the drama and artistic femininity of the brand and would create confections women would swoon over

My hopes are not high, but hell, didn't I just ask for Ryan Gosling?

Clearly reality is loose on this list.

It Can't All Be Dior's Birthday Present #1

Last nite on the subway, either I had the luck of being smiled at twice by Ryan Gosling or some very fortunate young'in that shares his dimples and lightly mussed hair.

I love Mr Taurus, but if I have a celeb "Get Out of Jail Free card" I'd like to play it here and ask for:

Ryan Gosling, in glasses

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes... Even More Beautiful in Paris?

Honey, no need to look up: heaven's on your arm

Most ladies would be smitten if they man swept them away to Paris. Oh but Eva Mendes has to be all greedy like and run off with her super cutie beau Ryan Gosling. I'd hate on her, but I kinda dig her. -hmph-

I'm Not Sure I can Hang with Mr. Cooper

People Magazine named Bradley Cooper the "sexiest man alive" and sure he's handsome enough, but inset cover bubble (and animal lover!) Ryan Gosling has my heart for his dreaminess, nerdiness and dedication to craft

And hello, no one can claim the same for B.C.

Oh and obviously I need to read People more often cuz I coulda sworn Bradley was J-Lo's new man! Damn girl, save some for the rest of the folks!

Don't Scare the Boys

The following is an assessment of Ryan Gosling's Gucci suit worn on the red carpet recently

And here's my assessment: are you f**kin' stupid anonymous source (I'll leave that way to avoid rioting outside their New York office)?

First off he looks kinda amazing both in the hubba- hubba kinda way and in the "work it out!" way too.

Second, here's a man who took a risk when most actors are showing up to red carpets in ripped jeans and t-shirts.

Ryan is sharp, crisp and on trend here and he looks comfortable and hip. This throwback printed material and the slender cut suits him (pun intended). Men get so weirded out by showing their body in any form of fit tighter than "relaxed" and so often rather than take a risk, default to sloppy, capricious outfits. This harsh criticism for Mr. Gosling's efforts will just reinforce the double standard that women must show up to events DONE and men can phone it in.

Well, I for one think you, Mr. Gosling look fantastic and I'd be happy to be your date for the evening. Seriously. Write me....

This is a Run I'd Tag Along for

(image from "Oh No They Didn't!" blog)

How did I miss this? Purrrr-inducing Ryan Gosling has signed on as the lead for a remake of 70's sci-fi fluff with fluffy hair (Hello Farrah!) "Logan's Run"

(not the makeup counter at Bloomingdale's)

Nerd alert confession: I own the original 1976 crapfest on dvd and since I'd never seen it and since it's kinda hokey I can only write it off as a drunken ebay purchase. Thanks midnite and Michelobs (I don't really drink Michelob but Sam Adams lacks alliteration)

This mess was part of the sub-genre of the hugely successful disaster movies of the 70's, the apocalyptic future disaster movie. Other entries include "Soylent Green" (Netflix it, amazing!), "The Omega Man", "The Andromeda Strain", etc.

Anywho, so Gosling is gonna play Logan 5, a government "sleepman" who collects for public sacrifice the citizens when they reach the undesirable old age of 30. I know a few people who date this way

(take a ride on the carousel)

(Dante much?)

In the original Run, Michael York had about as much sex appeal as a wet sheepdog on a ratty old plaid dog pillow passing gas, but Gosling should bring a wry, sharp hunkiness to the role

("He's not even cute")

However, is he mayhaps a bit too intense? I mean this is some capital silliness here. No great love affairs, no drug addicts, no tumultuous marriages, not much emoting necessary

But a Ryan Gosling in motion is a sexy thing indeed, so this Run should go the distance

Golden Globes 2011

being a gay with a blog, I gotta comment, right? Well here's my abridged version

LOVE:

Angelina wins my best dressed for wearing a rich color and fulfilling the dress' promise of drama with that wave of tousled hair. Elegant, yes, but will sneak out of the party early with your husband (I swear I wrote this and then realized the "aha" irony of it!)

Christina Hendricks also brought the drama and rocked a striking color. I kinda love this girl and her just slightly off dress choices. I'd have ditched that cheapy satin trim, but going as an impressive column of red? Love that!

Helena Bonham Crater wins the F**K you award with these mismatched shoes. Or maybe she was going for a kindergarten sense of style, either way I'm team Bonham Carter, baby!

HATE:

Look we all know I'm not a fan of Natalie Portman but I am a fan of Viktor and Rolf and yet I cannot defend this saccharine concoction. Too sweet and too much what a sweet, bland girl next door would wear to prom. "I'm a pretty, pretty princess, mommy, right?" Blech.

BRING OUT YOUR DEAD:

Where'd they dig up this Coyote Ugly?!

but let's end this with a little YUMMY, shall we:
