Don't She Look Cute Today: Tuesday March 30th 2010

Miss LG wore the perfect bracelet for yesterday's LEGO exhibit

Don't I Look Cute Today: Tuesday March 30th 2010

Rainy LEGO fun

Curiouser and Curiouser

Oh Pandora Boxx got cut this week on RuPauls's Drag Race. Bummer.

I really wanted her to win cuz she is funny, lighthearted and colorful. And like a certain Mr G, she likes butter.

LEGO my Hieronymus Bosch

Yesterday Miss LG and I braved the rain for some much needed art made of Danish brightly colored plastic building blocks.

(the bog we braved on Rivington. It was really coming down yesterday in New York)

Little did we foresee the LEGO art exhibit being so dark and full of mourners and reprobates

But in such fun colors!

Friends

Today I heard from a pair of really good friends:

Miss B.H., who wanted to plan a long overdue rendez-vous when I'm in MD for a wedding in a few weeks. I am so happy to see her and meet her little rugrat.

And I had a request from Miss J.S. for more pics of me in me outfits.

Ok, will do! And thanks for the love :)

Perfect Day: BINGO!

Last nite Mr G and I joined the DiCarlos and Mr D and Miss T for some Bowery Poetry Club Monday nite Bingo. It was packed, but we had a reserved table. Go Mrs DiCarlo and your connects!

I've always been a fan of the cards and the numbered balls, but with prizes as fantastic as frog shaped soap dispensers and smiley face alarm clock necklaces, who wouldn't go wild?

And wouldn't you know it, Mr DiCarlo won the Playdough Fun Factory which he gallantly gave Miss T.

She was the receiver of many gifts all nite since hosts Murray Hill and Linda Simpson would give her a shout out anytime they pulled "O-69". Ha. (Mrs DiCarlo put in a good word for her ahead of time)

Bingo took a strange turn when kids got naked minus some strategically placed Bingo boards. All for a two drink bar tab??? Maybe I'm getting old. Plus, please tell me those boards get hosed down in Lysol after.

I'll spare you those shots, but damn look how close I was to winning the Hannah Montana beach towel! Curses!

Lohan Behold!

I am still stuck on this crazy kook, what can I say?

GILTy Purchase: Lime Aid

Chartreuse and schmutz proof nylon? Two wins in my book but add a weird shadowy white prop hand and I'm sold.

(Nylon zip tote, Adidas SLVR, $78 at gilt.com)

Last Bit of Winter Weekend

This past weekend my old pal, Winter, checked in for a last visit with temps dipping down low enough for me to wear all my favorite cashmeres and snugglies before their upcoming hibernation.

The rich dark colors of my Prada vest I brightened up with an American Apparel eggplant polo and topped it off with my "oddly only come out in Spring/Summer" Nicole Miller brown boots.

The weekend was full of boozin with friends and Mr G and I got not one but TWO visits from our favorite doggie ladies, Rosa and Oogie Boogie. I love how easily we've become their uncles.

(Lu and Oogie face off. Lu's got the advantage of laser shooting eyes.)

Miss G came over Sunday and helped us play with the doggies. She brought a bag of goodies too including: various Cheetos flavors, peanut brittle, m&m's, jalapeno chips and an echo of my just purchased Entenmann's Easter cupcakes. Cuz, honey, when you think Bad Movie Sunday, you think Entenmann's.

This meal brought to you by Corn Syrup and Hydrogenated Oil.

Oh and Gin.

G+T's were our drink of choice, although Miss G discovered that when you accidentally spill your gin on a whole bag of Sour Patch Kids, you create quite the sorority girl heaven in this rival for jello shots. yummers!

We attempted some nutrition with the leftover lotus root from last nite's dinner. But that theory was muted with all that sesame oil. Oh the Gluttony!

(Miss G's dress and our tummies had the same thought)

Then we sat down for the fine films "Monsturd" (killer poo) and "Thank God It's Friday" (disco movie with Donna Summer and The Commodores. Also poo)

A Bad Movie double feature? Oh the Sloth!

And I got a new video game for the Playstation 3 and found a rolling rack in the hallway. Oh the Greed!

Sinning most vigorously on Palm Sunday.

Perfect Day: Crowns, Cats and Captures

Last nite was a blast. I met some new people, some old friends and I liked this mish mash art show of karaoke screen captures and deflated heart Mylars:

And random kitty cat graffiti on the street:

I felt like a king for the day!

Umm... This Be Good: Nastier! Stranger!

Thanks Mr G for last nite's viewing of this movie touchstone. And thanks Miss G for all the snuggles and smizing :)

Shannen's dancing aside, who is that wispy white girl butchering Echo and the Bunnymen??

Ch...Ch..Changes

Just got off the phone with my really good friend who also cuts my hair. She's leaving the city in one month. Oh no!

I guess I have my local Chinatown spot....

Spring It On Me!

I soaked up the springtime weather this weekend. And nothing says Spring like wine (and whine) on Miss JR's rooftop Friday eve. Miss JR and I met up early so our silly complaints we could toss out at each other before Miss M met up with her real problems. Any way you slice it, we all got it out, and wine and pizza in.

Saturday Mr G and I took Miss G's boyfriend, Mr B, out to choose a tuxedo for her upcoming birthday celebrass-ion. We worked our homo angle on him and got a tux that was on point (right fit in the seat and length of hem and without a vest and contrasting black enamel cuff links, etc) and ready made for a Miss G freak out.

That boy owe us for the a** he's gonna get ;)

And then Sunday Mr G finally purchased that Playstation 3 he's been lusting after. I was a bit nervous at first that this would turn into a giant time suck for me (the underemployed) and for he (the hungry for distraction). Oh, but then I remembered I am a total video game nerd.

Miss G, over for the unveiling, was floored how her two gays are screaming at the Grim Reaper kicking his ass in "Dante's Inferno" while her boyfriend called to say he was watching E! and to tell her about the $500 shoes he bought yesterday.

Miss G: "What is going on here? Who is the straight guy here???"

Needless to add, we were up to 230am playing that ish last nite. I beat the crap out of those demon babies in Limbo!

Perfect Day: 60's Fashion Exhibit

At the CUNY in the old B. Altman building on 35th and 5th, Miss LG and I peruse the 60's cinema fashions. It's a delightful but brief exhibit focusing predominantly on Fellini's influence on fashion (although the above Ferregamo with his Hollywood starlet templates pic is amazing!)

As we walked in, "La Dolce Vita" was playing my fave bit where Marcello is slamming a lady with feathers from a pillow while she rolls around on the floor in a drunken stupor. Then he rides her around the room like a horse.

Yup, that's the life.

Meanwhile, looking the part, my tomato print tie is a subtle homage to Warhol and Miss LG rocked a fabulous Bakelite knot pin.

I drew inspiration from these menswear drawings, the best bits of the whole shebang.

Irish I'd Stayed in Bed

Instead of green, feeling a little blue today after a string of no luck.

I followed up with two jobs I applied for recently, one over the phone and another, a retail store assistant manager job, in person. The manager there agreed to meet me only to spring into a lecture about not finding it very professional to drop by in person. So much for being pro-active. My entire life has been filled with this lesson of patience and being patient, you'd think it'd stick.

After that debacle I was shaken but determined to keep my mid-day lunch date with Mr E, a new perspective. Tall, dark and handsome, he and I share a light meal, coffee and an easy conversational chemistry. Mayhaps that's all the chemistry though. Maybe we're so "friend"ly, cuz that's what we're meant to be. I mean I'm physically attracted to him and he's quite quick whitted but he doesn't really ask questions about me or mirror my questions to him. Add that to his girly career choice of hair colorist and his anal-retentive tirade on the joys of cleaning behind the fridge and his sexy fades as fast as a box of Clairol Nice and Easy.

And I haven't even had a drink yet today.

You Betta

Be Wearing Green today!

Aww, Tute, Tute

Tonite was the Season 3 finale of my favorite show, Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

All Kiki De Montparnasse, Nars lipstick, Graham & Brown wallpaper and Stephen Dweck jewels, SDCC is sex and style and London and makes me really consider being a high-end prostitute.

And now I have to wait til the next season to see if Hannah gets back with scrawny sexpot nerd Ben?!

What will I do with Monday nights now?

I guess find my own scrawny sexpot nerd...
